Introduction: About Love Your Library Days
The Connecticut Library Association, Connecticut Library Consortium and the Connecticut State Library are partnering with Barnes & Noble Booksellers to Love Your Library this holiday season in a special fundraiser that will support a service used by all Connecticut libraries - the Connecticut Digital Library (aka, iCONN). iCONN is the “go to” spot for free & fast database access for libraries, schools, universities and all of Connecticut’s citizens. Since its inception in 2001, iCONN users have conducted over 30 million searches of iCONN databases. Love Your Library will help support this core library resource.
On Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd, Barnes & Noble will donate from 15% to 25% of every sale at Connecticut and select out-of-state store locations to Connecticut's libraries via the iCONN program! To qualify, purchases must be accompanied by a Love Your Library voucher.
In many stores, special events will be planned for December 2nd and 3rd to celebrate Love Your Library days. Most Barnes & Noble stores will also have a "wish list" table from which you can purchase & donate books badly needed by area libraries. You can even dedicate your donation in bookplates provided by the store. Some Barnes & Noble stores will have gift-wrapping tables staffed by volunteers (where you can have your purchases readied for the holidays for a monetary donation).
What Can I Do to Help Connecticut Libraries?
- Shop with a Love Your Library voucher on December 2nd or 3rd
- Donate a book to your local library via the "wish list" tables setup at local Barnes & Noble stores, December 2-3
Get your voucher for the Love Your Library event from this website. Print out the voucher (can be in black & white or in color) and bring it shopping with you on Love Your Library days. Your purchases will benefit all Connecticut libraries! You can also get vouchers from your public library. If you forget your voucher on the day of the event, just ask your Barnes & Noble store cashier for a copy (they will have a supply on hand).
You can shop at any Barnes & Noble store in the state of Connecticut and in participating Massachusetts and Rhode Island stores. Find a Barnes & Noble store convenient to you (view store hours & directions, link to the store's website for a listing of events, etc.).
Remember, educators' discounts are not eligible for this promotion; college stores run by Barnes & Noble are not participating in the event; and you cannot use vouchers for coffee shop purchases.
